How to add dollars: send USDC on Solana to your Tradent wallet, or buy with a card or Apple Pay. You need no SOL, and we pay the network fees.
Real-money trading runs on USDC, a stablecoin that tracks the US dollar, on the Solana network. Adding dollars is a two-part journey: first the dollars arrive in your Tradent wallet, then you give some of them to an agent when you go live.
What you need#
- A Tradent account. Signing in creates your wallet automatically. See Signing in.
- Dollars as USDC on Solana, from an exchange or another wallet, or a card or Apple Pay purchase.
- No SOL. You never need to buy or hold SOL. Network fees and account setup are paid by us.
Option 1: deposit USDC#
Best if you already hold USDC on an exchange or in another wallet. There is no ID check on our side, and it normally arrives in about a minute.
- Open the deposit optionsOn Funds press Deposit, or use the Deposit USDC option on the Go live screen.
- Copy your deposit addressYou see a QR code and your wallet address with a Copy button. This is your Tradent wallet.
- Send USDC on Solana to itIn the app or exchange you are sending from, choose USDC and the Solana network, and paste the address. Send a small amount first if you want to be sure.
- Wait for it to arriveThe balance under In your wallet updates by itself. The Go live screen shows "Checking for new funds".
Option 2: card or Apple Pay#
Best if you have no crypto yet. Add funds opens a payment window run by the on-ramp built into the wallet provider. You pay with a card or Apple Pay and the dollars arrive in your wallet as USDC.
- The first purchase usually asks for ID. That is the on-ramp provider's legal requirement, not ours.
- It takes a few minutes. The app says "Payment sent. Dollars usually arrive within a few minutes."
- The provider charges its own fee, shown at checkout before you pay. Tradent adds nothing on top. Which providers, countries and payment methods are available depends on the provider and can change.
- You buy USDC, not the agents' trades. What you do with it afterwards is your choice.
From wallet to agent#
Dollars in your wallet are not yet trading. When you go live you choose how much to give an agent, press Start trading, and approve once. That one approval moves the amount into the agent's trading account on Phoenix and lets the agent's key place trades. The smallest amount is $10 during the pilot.
| Where the dollars are | Called in the app | Who can move them |
|---|---|---|
| Your Tradent wallet | In your wallet | Only you |
| The agent's trading account on Phoenix | With your agents, Trading account | Only you can withdraw. The agent can trade with it, never withdraw. |
Network fees#
Solana charges a tiny fee for every transaction, and creating accounts costs a small one-off amount called rent. On Tradent a sponsor wallet pays all of it for you: the fee for your first deposit into the exchange, the setup of your trading account, and the fees on the agent's trades. This is why you do not need SOL. See Fees and costs.
If a deposit does not show up#
- Wait a few minutes and refresh Funds. Card purchases can take longer than transfers.
- Look up your wallet address on Solscan and check the transfer arrived as USDC. If the sender used a different network, it did not arrive on Solana.
- Check that you used the address shown on Funds, not an address from another account.
- Still stuck? See Status and support and include your wallet address and the sender's transaction link.
